1. A few days before leaving for our trip to New Orleans, Benz, Boston and I braved a trip to the "nummy store" (AKA grocery) to stock up on food for Matt. All of the sudden, Benz started running down the frozen food aisle screaming and ducking down, as if to hide. I caught up with him and asked him what was wrong and he pointed to a lady dressed from head to toe in a black Muslim burka. He yelled at the top of his lungs, "Me no like that black lady!!" I was a little embarrassed but quickly told him that it was the costume he didn't like, not the lady!
2. We invited "Big Little Leo," a family friend over to my parents' house for pizza one night, as he was heading off to college. While we were all chatting, Benz snuck away from the table and filled up his cup with ice and water. He returned to the table with it and a giant leaf floating in it. He said he made a drink just like the ones Mommy & Daddy have in Vancouver! [We just planted some mint and have been making non-alcoholic mojitos].
3. Grandma P. was changing Boston's diaper one day, with Benz looking on. When she opened it up to expose a major poopy-doopy, Benz looked away with disgust and said: "Oooh, Gamma, that make me soooo sick!"
4. 8/18/08- Benz needed to go to the potty in the Denver airport on our return trip from New Orleans. We all piled into a handicapped stall and Benz sat down to do his thing. A few seconds later, Boston gave out a big squeak and Benz said to him, "Boston, close your eyes, I need some privacy!"
